Offshore Role – Supporting Australian Organisation

Location: Sri Lanka (Colombo / Hybrid/WFH)

Join NEXTSHORE as an Audit Senior, where you will take the lead in supervising and delivering audit assignments as part of our Australian offshored service model. In this role, you will work as a dedicated offshore resource
 supporting Australian audit firms, managing audits from planning through to completion while ensuring high-quality and efficient service delivery aligned with Australian standards.

About the Role

As an Audit Senior at NEXTSHORE, you will lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, supervise and mentor team members, and liaise directly with Australian clients and onshore audit teams. You will ensure audits are delivered efficiently, on time, and in full compliance with Australian Auditing and Accounting Standards.

This is a long-term Australian offshored audit role, aligned to Australian methodologies, systems, and professional expectations.

Key Responsibilities
• Audit Execution: Conduct and review audits in line with the Audit Manual, applying appropriate risk assessment, materiality, and financial statement assertions.
• Planning & Programming: Identify key risks, develop audit strategies, manage budgets and timelines, and coordinate with clients on engagement requirements.
• Supervision & Leadership: Allocate work, coach and mentor junior staff, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with firm standards.
• Completion & Reporting: Review work papers, finalise audit files, manage partner feedback, conduct exit meetings, and oversee billing processes.
• Client Engagement: Build strong client relationships, communicate professionally, and identify opportunities for value-added services.
• Technical Excellence: Apply up-to-date knowledge of Australian accounting, auditing, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Technology & Systems: Efficient use of tools such as CaseWare, Solution 6, Excel, and other audit software.

Key Performance Indicators
• Timely completion of timesheets and achievement of productivity targets
• On-time clearance of audit plans, queries, and reports
• Effective budget management with minimal write-offs
• High-quality delivery of audit reports and governance letters

About You
• CA / ACCA / CIMA / CMA qualified (degree in Accounting, Business, or Commerce preferred)
• 3–5+ years’ audit experience, including leadership or mentoring exposure
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards and the Corporations Act
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (business-level English required)
• Proven ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations
