Product Manager – Affordability (Financing and Consumer Offers)

Role Summary
The Product Manager – Affordability is responsible for designing, launching, and managing consumer financing and affordability solutions which includes device Trade-In and Trade-Up that drive product adoption and sales in the Sri Lankan market. This role works closely with banks, finance/leasing companies, telcos, and retail partners to develop installment plans, zero-interest offers, buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) options, and other consumer affordability programs, while ensuring regulatory compliance and commercial viability
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Development
• Define and own the affordability product roadmap aligned with business and sales objectives
• Design consumer financing products such as:
• Credit card installment plans
• Leasing and hire-purchase options
• BNPL and short-term financing schemes
• Telco-led device financing programs
• Trade-In and Trade-Up Programs
• Adapt global or regional affordability models to suit Sri Lankan consumer behavior and market realities
Partner Management
• Build and manage strong relationships with:
• Local banks and finance companies
• Leasing providers and NBFCs
• Telcos and retail partners
• Trade-In Partners
• Negotiate commercial terms, margins, subsidies, and promotional structures
• Coordinate onboarding, agreements, and operational readiness with partners
• Track Partner Performance
Go-to-Market & Execution
• Work with Sales and Marketing teams to launch affordability offers across retail, online, and partner channels
• Support campaigns, promotions, and seasonal offers (e.g., Avurudu, festive periods)
• Ensure clear communication of offers to frontline sales teams and partners
• Check store execution
• Solve daily operational issues
Data, Performance & Reporting
• Track KPIs such as:
• Offer uptake and conversion rates
• Sales contribution from affordability programs
• Partner performance and ROI
• Trade-In usage
• Analyze consumer behavior, affordability trends, and market insights
• Prepare regular performance reports and recommendations for management
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure all products comply with:
• Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) regulations
• Consumer protection and finance-related guidelines
• Work with Legal, Finance, and Risk teams to mitigate credit, operational, and reputational risks
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Collaborate closely with:
• Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Technology teams
• Act as the central point of contact for affordability-related initiatives
Required Qualifications & Experience
• 3–5 years of experience in telecom, mobile distribution, banking, fintech, or retail.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Strong exposure to:
• Consumer financing, banking, leasing, or fintech
• Retail, FMCG, electronics, or telecom industries (preferred)
• Experience working with Sri Lankan banks, finance companies, or telcos is highly desirable
