Legal Manager

We are a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka and looking for a Manager Legal for an FMCG company located in Colombo. This role will be driving the legal and compliance agenda of the organization through robust documentation, effective processes, and creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities
• Reviewing and drafting business contracts, deeds, court proceedings, approvals, resolutions, corporate policies and procedures.
• Evaluate legal risks in business activities and ensure all activities are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
• Coordinating with internal stakeholders, legal counsel, regulatory bodies, and external parties regarding court proceedings, trademarks, approvals, and other legal matters.
• Assisting in establishing legal processes and systems to support company objectives.
• Delivering presentations and conducting internal legal training sessions.
• Managing administrative tasks for the legal department including payment processing and record-keeping.

Requirements:
• Qualified Attorney-at-Law with a degree from a recognized university (qualifications in business and/or finance will be an added advantage)
• At least 7 years of post-qualifying experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
• A national license to practice in English the Colombo or Gampaha District.
• Excellent communication skills (spoken and written English and Sinhala)
