Description

The Vice President – Manufacturing will lead and oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations across apparel production facilities. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, cost efficiency, quality standards, compliance, and scalable production while aligning manufacturing strategy with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Strategy & Operations

  • Develop and execute manufacturing strategies to meet production, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Oversee cutting, sewing, finishing, washing, and packing operations across multiple factories.
  • Drive capacity planning, production planning, and efficiency improvements to support growth.

Operational Excellence & Cost Management

  • Implement lean manufacturing, productivity improvement, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Control manufacturing costs, improve margins, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Monitor KPIs including efficiency, absenteeism, quality, delivery adherence, and cost per minute.

Quality, Compliance & Sustainability

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, buyer requirements, and compliance audits (BSCI, SEDEX, WRAP, ISO, etc.).
  • Champion sustainability, ethical manufacturing, and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality systems and defect reduction.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop senior plant leadership teams and functional heads.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and results.
  • Oversee manpower planning, succession planning, and leadership development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Sourcing, Quality, HR, and Finance teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Support new product development, pilot runs, and scale-up for new styles and buyers.

Reporting & Governance

  • Prepare and present manufacturing performance reports to executive leadership and the board.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and governance standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Textile Technology, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 15–20 years of experience in apparel manufacturing, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong exposure to large-scale garment manufacturing operations and global buyers.
