Role Overview
VAS is seeking a strategic and proactive HR Business Partner to support our operations in Sri Lanka. The HRBP will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, driving people strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness, support business growth, and strengthen employee experience.
This role plays a key part in executing HR initiatives across workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement, and performance management, while ensuring full compliance with Sri Lankan labor laws and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to design and implement people strategies aligned with VAS business objectives.
- Lead workforce planning initiatives to anticipate talent needs and future skill requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition to attract and hire talent for critical and strategic roles.
- Work with Learning & Development to support training programs, capability building, and leadership development initiatives.
- Manage and support the performance management cycle, ensuring consistency, fairness, and continuous development.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, feedback mechanisms, and action plans.
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and investigations.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and workforce productivity to support informed decision-making.
- Support HR transformation and process improvement initiatives to enhance HR service delivery and employee experience.
- Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan labor law, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or HR certification is an advantage.
Experience
- 8–10+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Minimum 3 years in an HR Business Partner or senior HR advisory role.
- Experience supporting multi-functional teams or growing organizations is preferred.
- Prior experience in Sri Lanka or strong knowledge of the local labor market is required.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in talent management, organizational development, and performance management.
- Proven ability to influence, coach, and partner with senior stakeholders.
- Strong employee relations and Sri Lankan labor law knowledge.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret HR data and trends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- Strong communication skills in English; Sinhala or Tamil is mandatory, additional languages are a plus.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
