Sous Chef – In Room Dinning
Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a charismatic and service-driven individual to join Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams as a Sous Chef. Cinnamon Life is part of Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Sri Lanka’s largest hotel owner and operator, with a portfolio of 17 hotels and resorts across Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts is a member of John Keells Holdings PLC, one of the largest listed conglomerates in Sri Lanka.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the daily operations of the In-Room Dining kitchen, ensuring timely and high-quality food delivery
- Maintain exceptional food quality, portion control, and presentation standards at all times
- Support menu execution, recipe compliance, and misen place planning
- Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen colleagues to ensure operational excellence
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
- Control food costs, minimize wastage, and assist in inventory management
- Coordinate closely with service teams to ensure smooth and efficient service flow
Knowledge and Skills
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant
- Strong knowledge of international cuisine and In-Room Dining operations
- Proven leadership, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends
- Strong commitment to quality, hygiene, and guest satisfaction.
