Engineering Executive
Description
We are a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka, looking for a Engineering Executive. The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving machinery reliability, supporting plant operations, and driving maintenance excellence through innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve machinery reliability through proactive maintenance and effective problem-solving.
- Support the Engineering Manager in commissioning, upgrading, and modifying machinery and plant systems.
- Lead and contribute to continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and reduce equipment downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedules and safety standards.
- Identify opportunities to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance processes using best engineering practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, reports, and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all maintenance and engineering activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or NDT qualification with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience in the Tyre manufacturing experience, polymer, plastics, or manufacturing industry will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, automation, and control processes.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis (RCA) to ensure machinery reliability.
- Hands-on experience in commissioning, upgrading, and modifying machinery and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in PLC systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and instrumentation controls.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Sound understanding of electrical safety standards, compliance, and HSE practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities to collaborate across departments.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Kaizen principles to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong commitment to operational excellence.
